Weekend in Seguin

What a long week.  Alicia and I went to see Cowboy Mouth on Wednesday.  On Thursday night, we drove down to Seguin to my Dad’s house.  I had lunch Friday afternoon with the guys I used to work with in Seguin.  They seemed to be doing well.  It was interesting that none of them wanted to see Print Online (the application that we just launched).  Then on Friday night we went to see Covenant in San Antonio at The White Rabbit.  Before the show, I talked to one of the guys in Imperative Reaction.  They had opened up before VNV Nation when I saw them at The Gypsy Tea Room here in Dallas.  He actually played in both opening acts.  He was the lead singer in the first opening act (System Syn) and the keyboardist / vocals in Imperative Reaction.  The main act was Covenant an EBM from Sweden.  I’ll write a review later today.  I am really behind on my reviews; I need to write on from The Glory Of Living and Cowboy Mouth.  Looks like it will be a lot of writing today.  The White Rabbit was very smoky.  It did not help that Camel was giving out free cigarettes.  I really wish club shows were not so smoky.  While we there, I was not thinking about what sometimes when I am in a really smoky environment for a while, I get a migraine the next day which unfortunately struck Saturday.

Alicia and I met her Mom and her boyfriend at The Grist Mill.  My head was hurting some on the drive from Seguin to Gruene (New Braunfels).  I thought it might be since I was hungry.  We got an appetizer of some onion rings.  When they arrived, the taste was off which I thought was just the onion rings themselves.  I ate one, but my appetite had disappeared.  I started feel nauseous so I went to the bathroom.  Unfortunately the nausea makes my head to start to pound.  I was in full-blown migraine land now.  I went back to the table.  I felt terrible since her Mom had come to meet me.  After lunch we drove back to Dallas.  I was feeling awful; we listened to the last quarter of the UT / Nebraska game.  The horns came from behind at the end of the game to win.  It was a great game.  They played in Lincoln which is usually a tough place to win.  The horns have been really successful up there.  I finally dozed off for 30 minutes or so in the car ride back to Dallas.  After this, I finally started to feel better.  I had never gotten a migraine while I was away from the house till Labor Day weekend.  Now I have gotten two while I was away from here.  I have not carried any of my migraine medicine.  I am going to start now.

We got back to Dallas.  Alicia was dead tired so feel asleep while we were stretched out on the couch.  We slept in till 10 this morning which felt great.  I am glad we did not go see KMFDM last night in San Antonio which coincidently played at The White Rabbit or The Pet Shop Boys at Next Stage tonight.  It will be nice to get to bed at a reasonable hour.
