It is late, and I am about to go to bed. I thought I would make a post on some behind the scenes changes for my blog. I installed some new plug-ins. The first one is the ability to submit an article to digg, del.ico.us, or yahoo. These are reader-driven content sites. It will be interesting if anyone “diggs” one of my posts. Check it out at www.digg.com. I also install a rss feed syndicator called feed burner. This will make it easier for me to see how many people are subscripting to my rss feeds. Anyway, just a short post before I hit the sack. Good night.

I thought I would create a separate post on my financial information. I decided to do a mini application o’rama the other day. For those that do know what this is, it is a flurry of credit card applications to minimize the credit score hit. The reason for applying for all these credit cards is to take advantage of zero percent apr offers that are offered. Then you take the borrowed money and put into a high-yielding account like a money-market mutual fund. Basically you get free money between the interest you are paying which is zero in this case and the prevailing interest rate on money market which is currently in the low five percents. There are two caveats to doing this, one you take a credit score hit of 50 to 100 points during this time. My score is currently in the low 800’s. I will see what it ends up at after I get everything established. (more…)

Work was pretty good today. I got everything I needed to get done for the code freeze deadline today which is good even a last minute issue that was assigned to me around 4:30 this afternoon. The craziness does not stop. We are pushing a build to QA tomorrow at 3:00pm and then releasing the build to production at 5:00pm. It is getting crazy. The application is looking good, but we are introducing a lot of change into a very short testing cycle. I wish the QA department the best of luck. (more…)

Welcome to my first real post at my now self-hosted blog. It is
powered by wordpress. I installed wordpress Friday evening and
restyled shaylogan.com to match the wordpress theme on Saturday. I
published the changes on Sunday so shaylogan.com 2.1 and the blog went
live on Sunday August 27, 2006.

Anyway, here is what has been going on with my life. Alicia is going
to move in officially at the end of September. This is a big step for
us. I know that it is the right move at the right time. I have never
felt like I feel towards her with anyone else. It is simply amazing.
I hope it continues to go as good has been going. We have been slowly
moving her stuff over. (more…)
